A Baker's Dozen!

While we typically have a full house, four days a month we have 13 children to care for!! Yes, 13! =) While that can be a very busy day, sometimes it doesn't seem hard at all. On those days we actually get to do organized activities, like going on a walk. Yes, we went on a walk with 13 children and had fun!!

Lunch is a fun time too with 13, but they do awesome!!

Apples & Pumpkins & Corn OH MY!!!

This past Sunday we met our families at Center Grove Orchard! After talking about apples for the week, the children were able to see apple trees for themselves!!! It also helped us prepare for our theme this week (pumpkins)!! The kids (and adults) had a GREAT time playing in the corn, jumping on the large jumping pillow, going down the slide, feeding animals, and rolled pumpkins down the hill! There is so much to do there!! Here are just a few of our fun photos!

Reach for the Stars!

Today marks the start date of our two week participation in Reach for the Stars. This is an Usborne book program where 100% of the money earned goes towards free books for the children!!!

Our children get pledges, and then we (and the parents) are to read to them for 30 minutes a day for two weeks. The program strives to promote literacy early in life! Our final day will be Oct. 22nd. After all pledges are received, the families will be able to choose free books for their children totaling 50% of what they earned in pledges and the learning center will get to choose free books totaling the other 50% of what they earned.

Corporate sponsors are also welcome so if you have or know of a business willing to donate, just let us know (ameslearningcenter@gmail.com)!! It is a great program, and we are excited to be participating!

We LOVE being outside!!!

Our newest (and best) purchase has been a FOUR seat stroller! We can now go on walks again!! The babies just love it.

 The older children take turns walking in pairs while the babies get to ride in the big stroller.

Little Tailgaters

Little Tailgaters is this Saturday!!!!

Game time is at 6pm so we will be open from 4pm until 10pm!!

Dinner and snack will be provided.

Catching Up

Sorry for the delay in blogging!! We have kept busy ready Eric Carl books last week and talking about safety this week! The children really enjoyed The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear? With safety week, we practiced our fire and tornado drills today. The children did great and are really starting to understand where we go for each situation!
