We want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We made turkeys and cornucopias this week (without any pictures taken...sorry). For lunch today we got to start our holiday off with turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, and milk!!

Thanksgiving will be here soon!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we are learning about the first Thanksgiving this week and expressing what we are all thankful for. The children have really been grasping the basics about the first Thanksgiving this year. Some of the children were even pretending to be pilgrims sailing on the Mayflower the other day outside! I just love their imaginations!
We have been singing a song every day that lets the children express what they are thankful for.
Some of the things the children have been thankful for this week include: moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandmas, grandpas, cousins, teachers, dogs, cats, geese, toys, trees, corn, pie, bananas, & fruit snacks.
Some seem more random than others, but they are all important! My favorite of them all has to be teachers! =)
We hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving! Please take time to let those around you know what you are thankful for this holiday season!!

The song is Let's Give Thanks (sung to the tune of The Wheels on the Bus).
Let's give thanks for all we have,
All we have, all we have.
Let's give thanks for all we have.
(Name) is thankful for (object/person).

The Very Happy Children (well maybe its not a book yet!)
This week we got to have fun reading the works of Eric Carle. He does such a nice job writing stories that the children love! His pictures are quite adorable as well. While we read multiple books, our crafts were centered on The Very Hungry Caterpillar (as you will see below). We also focused on the lessons learned in The Very Quiet Cricket, The Very Lonely Firefly, The Very Busy Spider, and The Very Clumsy Click Beetle. He is truly a talented children's book writer!
The very hungry little caterpillar ate a LOT of food!
Then the little caterpillar was a big, fat caterpillar! (That also took over our doorway!)
He made a house called a cocoon (in our case the caterpillars were a little too fat to close the ends of the cocoons!!)
Then out popped a beautiful butterfly!! (Which also took over the house!)
