Police Cars & Fire Trucks!!

Sorry for the week delay in posting, but last week was Community Worker week and there were lots of fun activities at the end of the week! The children learned about the jobs of many people in our community including teachers, vets, dentists, farmers, doctors, eye doctors, police officers, and fire fighters.

They children really enjoyed reading about the different occupations, however the LOVED having a police officer and 3 firemen come to the daycare to visit! On Thursday the Officer showed the children what police wear (they really didn't understand anything beyond that), and he let them all sit in the backseat of his police car! They did not want to get out of that car!! He also showed them the lights and did his siren as he left!

The brave ones to get into the car:

After the excitement of Thursday, three firemen brought over a fire truck! Yes, we blocked off a lane of 6th St and had our own private showing! The children were able to get into the truck and look around. Again, a few refused to leave! The firemen showed the kids all of the equipment and tried to get the kids to repeat 9-1-1. It didn't really work. They were too excited about the truck! Maybe they can visit again when everyone is a bit older!

We love fire trucks!
