Last week was Insect Week! We covered a lot of different types of insects and also talked a little bit about spiders. The children learned that insects have 3 sections to their bodies & 6 legs. We also talked about different eyes, antennas, legs, and wings. The highlight of the week had to be the discovery of a spider in the backyard. For educational purposes only, I caught the spider in a clear container so the children could hold and look at the spider closely. They LOVED it! We also had fun making butterflies out of tissue paper and by painting the kids' feet. They also got to be creative and make their own insect. Here are a few creations:
