Our Tiny Garden

The seeds that we planted during Garden week are still growing! Even in their small plastic containers, they just keep growing! The kids love checking on them every day!

The Joys of a Big Box

We did not realize the excitement that would come with obtaining a large furniture box!! The kids have LOVED playing in it and painting it! It is perfect for our transportation, travel, and vacation themed weeks. Thanks Shelly!

We rode the bus today!!!

We kicked off transportation week with a bus tour!! CyRide picked us up at the nearby bus stop and drove us around town. The kids loved it! They were so happy to ride on a big bus and go through the bus wash! We are very thankful for all the parents that came along with us! Everyone helped to make it a very easy and nice experience!
The pictures don't quite capture how excited the children really were!

Waiting for the bus to come...

Graduates of 2030??? Well for college that is!!

They are the cutest graduates I have ever seen! Even if the graduation gown is HUGE on them!

It is hard to believe it is May!!

We have been having a great time this Spring! We get to play outside often (which is nice for the kids and for us), and we have new friends joining us over the next few months!
Sometimes playing outside is just too much fun, and a nap is needed!

While the children LOVED our community worker week (because they saw a police car and fire truck), they also enjoyed Mother's Day week last week. We read books about moms and made very fun Mother's Day gifts!

This week we are talking about graduation! While it is a little hard for the toddlers to grasp, they enjoyed wearing Natalie's cap and gown today! Pictures will be posted soon!

Police Cars & Fire Trucks!!

Sorry for the week delay in posting, but last week was Community Worker week and there were lots of fun activities at the end of the week! The children learned about the jobs of many people in our community including teachers, vets, dentists, farmers, doctors, eye doctors, police officers, and fire fighters.

They children really enjoyed reading about the different occupations, however the LOVED having a police officer and 3 firemen come to the daycare to visit! On Thursday the Officer showed the children what police wear (they really didn't understand anything beyond that), and he let them all sit in the backseat of his police car! They did not want to get out of that car!! He also showed them the lights and did his siren as he left!

The brave ones to get into the car:

After the excitement of Thursday, three firemen brought over a fire truck! Yes, we blocked off a lane of 6th St and had our own private showing! The children were able to get into the truck and look around. Again, a few refused to leave! The firemen showed the kids all of the equipment and tried to get the kids to repeat 9-1-1. It didn't really work. They were too excited about the truck! Maybe they can visit again when everyone is a bit older!

We love fire trucks!
