Spring is Here!!
It is a welcomed time, and we are very thankful for the warmer weather! However, with the warmer weather comes many rain showers. We haven't been able to be outside quite as much as we like; however, we make the best of it during the rain. Yesterday we had out the water table (which is always a favorite), peg board, a new ball game (thanks pinterest.com), and dress-up clothes and we colored/made wind socks.
Happy Spring!!!

St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!
We have been talking about rainbows and St. Patrick's Day all week. The children's favorite game is to try to find our hiding Leprechaun to be able to get his "gold" (aka animal crackers). This year they are old enough to begin to understand some of the St. Patrick's Day traditions. For snack we are celebrating with Lucky Charms and green milk!
We made lucky rainbow chains, finger painted shamrocks (by mixing blue and yellow paint), and painted rainbows!

Project Smiles!!
Our kids love books! It is great to see their enjoyment of reading time. We are also fortunate that our library offers a free program where a volunteer comes to our place and reads to the kids once a month. The volunteer also brings us a nice selection of library books to read for the next month! The kids get very excited when they hear our Ms. Rae is coming!!
Well the kids got an extra special treat this week! Not only did Ms. Rae come to read to them yesterday, but they got a visit from Smiles the library dog today!! (For those that don't know, Smiles is someone dressed-up in a very large, blue dog suit.) Smiles brought each child a book for our participation in a reading program we did a few months back! What a special day....a free book and a high-five or hug from Smiles!

Dr. Seuss Day
To celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss (and to go along with our rhyming theme), we read Green Eggs and Ham today. In addition we ate green eggs and ham for snack!! It was a hit.
We also made place mats and played Pin the Eggs on the Dish in celebration of Dr. Seuss and his Green Eggs and Ham creation!

Little Artists
This week we have been working on our rhyming! We made rhyming match games and are reading a lot of Dr. Seuss! We also spent some time painting to music this week. Here are the little artists themselves!
